Ana Hammock, Chief Operating Officer
Ana has two decades of experience in small business lending and nonprofit financial services. Ana has led transformative initiatives across lending, credit risk, operations, technology, compliance, and organizational strategy.
Throughout her career, Ana has been a passionate advocate for community-owned businesses and equitable access to capital. She has played a pivotal role in expanding our national lending footprint, strengthening operational performance, and increasing access to financing and technical assistance for women entrepreneurs and historically underserved business owners.
As COO, Ana oversees enterprise operations, technology, finance, people operations and organizational effectiveness, leading strategic initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen portfolio performance, and position the organization for long-term growth and impact. Beyond her role at Ascendus, Ana serves on the Board of Directors for the Partnership for Financial Equity and the Board of Directors for Scale Link, a national CDFI collaborative focused on expanding access to capital through innovation, shared infrastructure, and industry collaboration. Through these leadership roles, she actively advances initiatives that strengthen the CDFI industry and promote financial inclusion and equitable economic development.
