Atlanta is Thriving: Numbers that Tell a Story, With Torron Williams Joining the Journey

From Numbers to Narrative: Supporting Entrepreneurs in Atlanta

Atlanta has long been a city where small businesses ignite possibility. From local storefronts to family-run enterprises, entrepreneurship is woven into the fabric of the city’s economy and culture. At Ascendus, we have walked alongside this journey for years – providing fair access to small business loans in Atlanta and personalized financial coaching that enables business owners not only to start, but to stabilize, expand, and ascend.

What makes Atlanta unique is not only the diversity of industries but also the determination of its entrepreneurs. Each milestone achieved in the city represents more than an isolated success; it reflects the collective strength of households, neighborhoods, and communities moving forward together.

Atlanta by the Numbers: Small Business Loans Driving Progress

The data tells a compelling story. In Georgia, Ascendus has deployed 317 loans totaling $8.1 million, with 245 of them concentrated in Metro Atlanta. These loans, averaging $25,673, are more than financial transactions – they are investments in vision and resilience.

The outcomes ripple far beyond the numbers: 362 new full-time jobs created and over 600 jobs maintained. That means families sustained, businesses stabilized, and communities strengthened. The entrepreneurs supported report an average business revenue of $159,513, signaling real contributions to Atlanta’s economic vitality.

Our commitment to equity is reflected in where this capital flows. More than $7.9 million has reached enterprises led by underrepresented owners, including 164 loans to Black entrepreneurs and 24 loans to Hispanic entrepreneurs. These businesses are not only drivers of local commerce but also pillars of representation and opportunity – anchoring Atlanta’s role as a hub of cultural and economic leadership.

Every loan deployed and every coaching session delivered represents another step toward financial health. Together, these outcomes form a mosaic of progress that reaffirms what we already know: entrepreneurs in Atlanta are thriving, and their impact is multiplying across the region.
