“The loan helped alleviate the cost of hiring and training technicians, so I could hire more people and treat more clients simultaneously. After being trained, my students and my employees have a new career and a new skill set.”

An Ascendus Loan Helps Seif Increase Job Opportunities, Educational Opportunities, and Career Paths

Through International Hairlines, Seif is creating a positive impact in his community, job opportunities, and successful career paths. “I had a client who was a little boy. He had a really bad burn on his scalp because his mom accidentally dropped boiling water on him when he was a child. His hair grew very patchy, and he was very self-conscious. His mom took him in to see me, and I camouflaged the burn scars to blend in with his hair. He was so thankful; he was in tears. I was so moved.”

Seif’s scalp micropigmentation (SMP) services are life changing, and although he has the customers, he needed trained employees to properly treat his clients. “Training for SMP is like the Wild West. Some people just learn on YouTube. I didn’t want that. I created my own academy.” Through his Ascendus loan, Seif invested in his SMP training academy. “The loan helped alleviate the cost of hiring and training technicians, so I could hire more people and treat more clients simultaneously. After being trained, my students and my employees have a new career and a new skill set. They can take that anywhere. I don’t take it lightly; I want them all to succeed.”

THE IMPACT OF SMP

Through International Hairlines, Seif helps those around him gain confidence through SMP treatment. “Although it is something ‘superficial,’ losing hair can have a significant impact on people’s self-esteem. People who experience hair loss can often experience confidence loss.” When Seif started losing his hair, he experienced just that. He began SMP treatment and realized the impact that it had on his entire well-being. “It was a huge confidence boost. I started to have a pep in my step; I wanted to take care of myself. I ate better and exercised, all because I felt better about myself. It was like a spark that started a journey of self-improvement.”

However, Seif had to travel three hours per session to receive treatments. Knowing that there were so many people who could benefit from the treatments in his community alone, he opened up his first International Hairlines location in Miami, Florida, in 2015. Today, Seif has grown to six locations throughout the USA and two international locations. He has his own product line and has won countless awards, including Best International Artist.

THE FUTURE OF INTERNATIONAL HAIRLINES

With more technicians trained, Seif can focus on the expansion of his academy and on franchising. “I have clients who want to be involved as business owners and students who need jobs. The next step is to merge the two, creating more opportunities for business, more job opportunities, and helping more clients receive the treatment they need.”

Seif’s work doesn’t stop there. He is also actively involved in ensuring there is a quality standard for SMP through the creation of an international guild for approved practices. “People come in for a variety of reasons. Whether from alopecia, chemotherapy, stress, or hereditary conditions, I want to ensure everyone gets the treatment they need to feel best about themselves. A client who used to wear wigs and hairpieces came up to me and said, ‘The humidity in Florida is so bad. I can finally walk around without a hairpiece, and it is so liberating; it’s like getting rid of shackles. It’s a new release on life.’”
