“I learned how to manage my expenses, and I paid every bill on time. I got a credit line increase from $500 to $5,000 in just a few months. I improved my credit score, and now I can qualify for larger loans.”

Kae Turns Dreams into Reality Through K House Kandles

“One night I was sleeping, and I had a dream that I was making candles. Someone was there, telling me to do this business. I woke up to my phone ringing. My grandma had passed away.”

Kae loved her grandma more than anyone in the world. At her funeral service, she couldn’t stop thinking about the dream. “Right after the service ended, I took all my paychecks and bought supplies. I had never made candles before, but I studied every day and mastered my craft in only three months. All while working a full-time job and being a full-time mother.” She started selling her candles to friends, and family members, and soon her business took off. “Some of the people who bought my first candles are still my clients today.”

REPAIRING HER CREDIT THROUGH ASCENDUS

However, Kae was investing everything she had into her new business, and she was soon running out of funds. “I got evicted from my apartment. I was so focused on figuring this out. I even took my rent money and spent it on supplies. It was a huge learning process to figure out how to manage everything.” When it came time for Kae to upgrade the materials for her small business, she was unable to get a traditional loan because of damaged credit. She reached out to Ascendus and got the help she needed to repair her credit. “I love the fact that Ascendus could help me. My loan consultant got me through the process. She taught me so much. I learned how to manage my expenses, and I paid every bill on time. I got a credit line increase from $500 to $5,000 in just a few months. I improved my credit score, and now I can qualify for larger loans.”

BETTER PRODUCTS, MORE OPPORTUNITIES

Kae used her increased line of credit to switch from soy wax to coconut oil wax, and to upgrade to premium jars and wicks. “Making candles is so much more than putting something in a bottle. It’s math; it’s science. If one thing goes wrong or one ingredient is off, it could cause an accident, and that would be detrimental to my clients. Now, with the funding from the Ascendus loan, I use the most expensive wax you can get. It is the best one. It’s natural, it can be used for massage, and it makes my candles better than ever for my clients.”

Today, Kae is running a successful candle business as well as teaching others how to make candles. “In my first dream, someone was teaching me how to do this. Now, I’m the one teaching others. It’s a crazy experience.” Kae’s dream has come full circle, and with her new products, she has been receiving more contracts than ever before. “I have three florists I am selling wholesale to in Atlanta for promotions with candles and flowers, and two boutiques are selling my candles in my hometown of Mississippi. Working with Ascendus has truly been a blessing.”
