If you’re like many of our clients, the last few months likely have been a trying time, and you’ve been doing the best to get by. Perhaps you or someone in your family may have lost a job, access to reliable childcare, or God forbid, a loved one. Expenses may have gone up, like groceries and electricity, because your kids are home all day and doing remote schooling. You may be stressed about money, feeling overwhelmed, and unsure how to start planning for a future that is so full of uncertainty and unanswered questions.

You are not alone.

Based on our conversations with hundreds of clients in this situation to date, we’ve put together a brief summary guide that we hope can help you: prioritize your expenses, identify resources that you may now qualify for, and make a plan to help you get through this time.

After 11 years in business, Christine Gutierrez, owner of Cosmic Life LLC., continues to appreciate her entrepreneurial vision and inspiring mission as if it were day one.

Cosmic Life provides psychologically grounded empowerment, spiritual tools, experiences, programs, retreats, and products for all women but specifically women of color, that are looking to heal from past traumas or feel disconnected from their true self-worth.  Christine has nurtured a community called the “diosahood” (diosa means goddess in Spanish) where soul medicine is created through sisterhood. “When woman gather there is power and when we come together, we heal, inspire one another and rise in our worthiness.”

It was especially important to Gutierrez to create a wellness community for Latina women as she felt the wellness space was lacking Latina representation.

Christine first found Ascendus through a company called “Start Small Think Big”.  She knew Ascendus could help with getting some capital for her completely self-funded  business. Extra cash flow was needed to help build her business and to invest in better marketing, a website, new venues for her retreats, and videography and photography to help increase sales.

Ascendus loan consultant, Andrea, helped Christine through the loan process every step of the way.” Everything felt personalized and Andrea made things very digestible and easy to understand. He seemed to genuinely care about my business and seeing my company succeed.”

Recently, Christine has received 2 PPP loans through Ascendus to help her through the pandemic and is now launching her first book, “I Am Diosa”.  “Ascendus helped me not only with the money I needed, but most importantly the resources and information I needed to continue to run a successful business.”
