Ascendus Named Top SBA Microlender in South Florida for Fourth Consecutive Year

MIAMI, FL – March 30, 2026 — Ascendus has been named the top microlender in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s South Florida District for the fourth consecutive year. In Fiscal Year 2025, Ascendus delivered 15 SBA microloans totaling $409,369 to small business owners across the region.
The SBA South Florida District Office (SFDO) reported a record-breaking FY2025, facilitating 5,108 SBA 7(a) and 504 loans totaling $2.8 billion and helping create or retain more than 38,800 jobs. Ascendus remains a key partner in this effort to strengthen the South Florida entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The fourth consecutive recognition reflects a long-standing commitment to meeting business owners where they are. Each loan represents an investment in entrepreneurs often overlooked by traditional lending. By combining fair capital with personalized coaching, Ascendus supports small businesses — including those led by women entrepreneurs, immigrants, and entrepreneurs of color — as they work toward long-term financial health.
A Celebration of Partnership
The SBA South Florida District Office hosted its Annual Lender Awards Ceremony on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Claude Pepper Federal Building in Miami. Fabiana Estrada represented Ascendus at the event, which recognized the role of microlenders in strengthening the regional economy.
Ascendus also recognizes the leadership of SBA South Florida partners Althea A. Harris, Clemence Garcia, and Malcolm Richards, whose work contributed to the district’s record-breaking year.
