About the Role

We want a motivated and exceptional accounting professional to join our Finance and Accounting Team. The Staff Accountant will provide reconciliation and journal entry support, with a focus on coding and documentation within procedures and controls for a growing organization. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller and coordinate with the Accounts Payable Associate. This position is ideally suited for someone who wants to be a part of the accounting function for a growing organization. This position is remote.

Key Outcomes

Financial Reconciliations (50%):

  • Deliver timely reconciliation of all cash account balances by the 5th of each month.
  • Deliver monthly reconciliation of all loan receivables by 10th of each month.
  • Support with month end closing to achieve by the 15th of each month.
  • Coordinate with Controller to achieve the above, as needed.

Treasury Functions (30%):

  • Reconcile cash activity related to loan participation programs.
  • Ensure loan receivable cash transactions move to the appropriate accounts weekly.
  • Support and back up A/P Associate, ensuring releases for wires and ACH occur timely.

Other Functions (20%):

  • Maintain Capitalized Asset schedules monthly.
  • Maintain deffered liabilities schedules monthly.
  • Ensure proper monthly accounting for accrued expenses and notes payable payments.
  • Maximize automation to free up capacity.
  • Special project support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related study area.
  • 5+ years of experience within the accounting, financial or nonprofit industries.
  • Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct accounting system and Excel.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary depending on experience.

The base salary range for this position is $50,000/yr. – $74,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
