Summary

The role of the Human Resources Associate is to increase the retention and development of Ascendus staff and to scale the mission. To achieve this, the Human Resources Associate will focus on cultivating high quality engagement for and among Ascendus staff and volunteers.  The Human Resources Associate will manage payroll and benefits of the organization, shape and lead recruitment efforts, and create and implement a seamless onboarding experience.  This is a great opportunity for a passionate and innovative Human Resources professional seeking to create an impact for a mission-driven organization. The Human Resources Associate will interact with all staff, report to the Human Resources Manager and occasionally engage with the Leadership Team.

Key Outcomes

The Human Resources Associate will be responsible for achieving the timely and accurate delivery of the following:

  • Customer Service (20%)
    • Maintain an average response rate of 24 hours on all Employee Success tickets
  • Organizational (50%)
    • Ensure payroll and benefits are processed each Friday
    • Ensure annual performance reviews are completed by February 28th
    • Ensure annual audit of employee files is completed by April 30th
    • Ensure mid-year performance reviews are completed by August 30th
    • Ensure annual enrollment of benefits by September 30th
    • Ensure annual compliance trainings are completed
  • Recruitment and Onboarding (20%)
    • Ensure successful recruitment of candidates within 8 weeks of job posting
    • Support Human Resources Manager in creating and implementing new onboarding process
  • Other (10%)
    • Other strategic projects as required by the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Believes in our organizational values of of adaptability, dedication, empathy, inclusion, integrity, and passion
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, I/O Psychology, Sociology, or related area of study
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work remotely and overtime when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Competitive salary depending on experience.
